American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce
In December 2011, AICC collaborated with the Humpty Dumpty Institute on a Congressional Staff delegation to Indonesia. Arriving first in Jakarta where they met with representatives of AMCHAM Indonesia as well as the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the group traveled to Sumatra where they visited Chevron’s Duri field, one of the oldest US operations in Indonesia, as well the integrated pulp and paper mill, Indah Kiat, a major supplier to the US. Returning to Jakarta, the group met with US Ambassador Scot Marciel as well representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Environment, and NGO’s that monitor the environment, labor, and security issues.
Staffers from the offices of the Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA), Representative Aaron Schock (R-IL), Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), Senator James Risch (R-ID) registed for the visit.
