Indonesia Corona Virus Update #1 March 9, 2020
- Number of reported cases: 19 (as of March 9)
- Rupiah: 14,384 (One week- High: 14,430 Low: 14,111)
- Travel to Bali: Preliminary arrivals figures for February 2020 show overall foreign arrivals declined 15.22% while Chinese visitors month-on-month declined 96.48%.
- Indonesia will impose restrictions on travelers from Italy, South Korea and Iran Starting March 8, Indonesia won’t allow entry nor transit of persons who have been to Tehran, Qom and Gilan in Iran; Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Piedmont in Italy; Daegu and Gyeongsang province in South Korea in the past 14 days.
- Indonesia CDC– does not have an independent center for disease control and prevention. The Health Ministry is now leading the management of the health crisis, with its secretary, Achmad Yurianto, being recently appointed as its sole spokesman.
- Import/Export Restrictions: none reported on US products entering Indonesia or vice versa. Indonesia has placed restrictions on live fish from China.

- Deficit: Indonesia’s Finance Minister Sri Mulyani estimates that the deficit could potentially reached 2.5 % or only 0.5 % short from the deficit limit of 3 % of the GDP. This value is far above the 2020 State Budget deficit target set at the 1.76 percent % of the GDP
